With the mechanical interlocking and signalling installations gradually disappearing one thing gets even more important in rail traffic: reliable power supply on railway tracks.

Our client, Siemens Rail Automation, ordered a web-based training (WBT) for internal training purposes with two main targets:

• Emphasising the importance of uninterrupted power supply.
• Demonstrating how and with which effort this is guaranteed.

When complex technical topics are involved, using an avatar is often a good idea. We experienced – and it has been proven by different studies – that a fictitious character guiding and moderating the participants increases the learners’ attention.

This was also the case for this training: On Siemens’ learning platform the web-based training received outstandingly positive evaluations.
